Sheraton Centro Histórico 6:00 – 8:30 PM Welcome Dinner and Orientation - PAI Orientation – review of PAI’s work and goals for the Study Tour. Sheraton Hotel - Introduction from PAI’s partners, Equidad de Genero; they will discuss their advocacy and policy work and the overall political context of SRHR in Mexico. Monday, June 2nd Mexico City 8:00 – 9:00 AM Breakfast at Hotel Buffet breakfast in Los Dones, restaurant on the 1st floor. 9:00 AM Depart Hotel - Travel to Equidad de Género’s office in the Coyoacán neighborhood. 10:00AM – 11:30 Meet with the Building Pro- - Round table discussion with leaders of PM Choice Alliance. the organizations that make up the Building Pro-Choice Alliance: Information Group on Reproductive *Coffee and fruit will be served Choice (GIRE), Ipas Mexico, Population Council, and Catholics for the Right to Decide (CDD). - Learn about their collaborative effort to pass a landmark law allowing safe abortion care in Mexico City hospitals. 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Hospital Visit with Raffaela - Visit a state hospital where Ipas has Schiavon, Director of Ipas – trained doctors and nurses to México administer comprehensive safe abortion care. - Learn about the demand for abortion services, the treatment of women in hospitals, and see the result of strong advocacy work. 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM Lunch in the Historic Center, Restaurant Los Girasoles: try their near the Zócalo. signature tequila drink or tasty flan! 3:30 PM Tour sights around the Zócalo – - English-guided tour of the National Mexico City’s main plaza and Palace where you can view Diego one of the biggest public squares Rivera’s famous murals.
