IV. Public Presentations – Public Presentations are limited to issues that are not included
on the meeting agenda. It is intended as an opportunity for the public to give input
on relevant planning issues and not intended as a question and answer period.
V. Public Hearings:
A. 2010-05-01 Ramona Bowden - A request for a conditional use permit for a
guesthouse. The property is located at 604 Windy Knoll Drive, is
zoned Agricultural (A) and is identified on tax map 20, as parcel
29F.
B. 2010-05-02 Shenandoah Mobile Company – A request for a conditional use
permit for a communications tower. The property is located at
411 Wakeman Mill Road, is zoned Agricultural (A) and is
identified on tax map 18, as parcel 2.
C. Z2010-05-04 Shirley Tuggle - A request to amend the list of uses in the Village
Residential (VR) zoning district to add “Ice-Cream Stand” to the
uses permitted by conditional use permit.
D. 2010-05-03 Shirley Tuggle – A request for a conditional use permit for an ice-
cream stand. The property is located off of Route 340 South, is
zoned Village Residential (VR) and is identified on tax map 42, as
parcel 31D.
E. Z2010-05-01 A request to amend Section 180-62(B)(1)(g) to strike the language
“approaching confiscation” from the requirements for granting a
variance to bring the County Code in compliance with the Code
of Virginia.
F. Z2010-05-02 A request to amend Sections 180-21(B), 180-22(B), 180-23(B), 180-
24(B), 180-25(B), 180-26(B) of the County Code (Zoning
Ordinance) to add a “residential facility” to uses permitted by
right in the Agricultural (A), Residential-One (R-1), Residential-
Two (R-2), Rural Residential (RR), Village Residential (VR), and
Suburban Residential (SR) zoning districts; to remove “group
homes” from uses allowed by conditional use permit in the
Agricultural (A), Residential-Two (R-2), and Village Residential
(VR) zoning districts; to amend Section 180-8 to add a definition
for a residential facility and to remove the definition for a group
home; and to amend Section 180-55.1 to add supplementary
regulations for a residential facility to bring the County Code in
compliance with the Code of Virginia.
G. Z2010-05-03 A request to amend Sections 180-21(C), 180-22(C), 180-23(C), 180-
24(C), 180-25(C), 180-26(C) of the County Code (Zoning
Ordinance) to add “temporary family health care structures” to
accessory uses permitted by right in the Agricultural (A),
Residential-One (R-1), Residential-Two (R-2), Rural Residential
(RR), Village Residential (VR), and Suburban Residential (SR)
zoning districts; to amend Section 180-8 to add definitions for a
caregiver, a mentally or physically impaired person, and a
temporary family health care structure; and to amend Section 180-
56.3 to add supplementary regulations for temporary family
health care structures to bring the County Code in compliance
with the Code of Virginia.
H. SO2010-05-01 A request to amend Section 155-3 of the County Code
(Subdivision Ordinance) to clarify that for purposes of dividing a
lot for sale or gift to a member of the immediate family, such
family may include the family member’s spouse to bring the
County Code in compliance with the Code of Virginia.
VI. Authorization to Advertise:
A. 2010-06-02 Gregory Zafros - A request for a conditional use permit for
private use camping. The property is located on Farms River
Road in Shenandoah Farms Subdivision, is zoned Residential One
(R-1) and is identified on tax map 15B, section 1, block 1, as
parcel 25.

Additional information is available for public inspection in the Warren County Planning and Zoning Department,
during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Warren County Planning Department is
located at 220 North Commerce Avenue. The Planning Commission will hold site visits for properties under
authorization for advertisement on the Tuesday preceding the meeting at 1:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend
the site visits.
