Thank you for taking the time to consider the GAGAL Apprentices and Trainees Sponsorship Proposal.
GAGAL Apprentices and Trainees is a not for profit community based organisation, who in 2010 will
celebrate 25 years of operation in Central Queensland. GAGAL’s core business is to facilitate skill
development through employment and training to service the needs of the community.
GAGAL currently employs over 350 apprentices and trainees in various trades from Metal Fabrication to
Horticulture. GAGAL also operates five commercial workshops for apprentices to receive experience by
tendering for live industrial work and completing a quality product in a commercial timeframe. GAGAL can
currently tender for live work in the fields of Metal Fabrication, Diesel Fitting, Fitting and Turning,
Carpentry, Cabinetmaking and Electrical Tool Repairs. The workshops are also able to deliver off the job
training to apprentices in these trades.
In addition to its’ core business, GAGAL is also facilitating four community programs, with the financial
backing of the state and federal governments, to deliver education and pre‐employment skills to
disadvantaged youth of the community and one community program to deliver pre‐employment and life
skills to indigenous members of the community. These are great programs with very high success rates.
Being a not for profit organisation, GAGAL relies heavily on the community and industry to support the
continued efforts to develop skills in the community. Sponsorship is one way in which local businesses can
help with GAGAL’s various endeavours.
This proposal details the levels of sponsorship available in 2010 and the benefits that sponsors receive.
We welcome any questions or feedback and ask you to support GAGAL in any way you can.

GAGAL’s Annual Events
GAGAL holds three (3) major events during the year along with other smaller events and opportunities for
sponsorship.
‘What’s My Trade?’
The GAGAL ‘What’s My Trade? Is a totally hands on experience where participants can ‘have a go’ and
actually construct something and take it home. This event is a great way to demonstrate what a trade
looks like, feels like and in some instances tastes like. Targeted generally to the primary to early secondary
school students, this event encourages young people to think about what career choices they may consider
in the future and give them the opportunity to ‘have a go’ and ask questions of those already in the trade.
The Gladstone ‘What’s My Trade?’ event attracts over 3000 participants over the 2.5 days. GAGAL invite
all the schools of the local and outlying regions to attend as well as the general public. Predominately the
Thursday and Friday is attended by the schools, with the Saturday very much becoming the public open
day for the event. Parents and carers bring along the students with their younger siblings to experience
the event for themselves, making it a family outing enjoyable for all.
The Biloela and Blackwater events are similar to the Gladstone event, targeting the regional/remote areas
to attend and enjoy the experience had by their peers on the coast. The Woorabinda event, targets the
indigenous community of Woorabinda and the smaller outlying towns including Baralaba and Wowan.
Although these events are on a smaller scale to the Gladstone event, it still sees a positive attendance,
Blackwater seen an attendance of 1,100 participants for the first event held in 2009, which we believe will
increase as the communities close to Blackwater attend the 2010 event.
Because of the scale of the events, it is essential that GAGAL also recruits the support from the community
with volunteers from industry, business and the community coming along to lend a hand. This provides
further exposure for your sponsorship dollar.

Gladstone Awards Night
The GAGAL Awards Night is to recognise and celebrate the achievements of GAGAL’s Apprentices and
Trainees over the past 12 months and to thank our Host Employers and Community Partners for their
support.
Nominations are sought for the apprentices and trainees from Host employers, their peers, Field Officers,
family, friends or they can nominate themselves. The nominations are to highlight and acknowledge the
apprentices or trainees commitment to their chosen trade and their skills development during their
training.
The 2010 event will be GAGAL’s 25th Anniversary and the pre bookings from date claimers is already
showing a positive attendance. The GAGAL Awards Night is attended by up to 500 people and is a night to
enjoy letting your hair down, whilst networking in a relaxed environment. Attended by GAGAL’s host
employers, apprentices/trainees and their families and the general community looking to dress up and
enjoy a great meal with excellent entertainment, the GAGAL Awards Night is a calendar favourite.
Golf Day
The GAGAL Golf Day is an opportunity to build new relationships with local businesses as well as
strengthen the existing relationships with our current Host employers to ensure skill demands are met and
increase training opportunities. Up to 108 players will be invited to an 18 hole tournament at the
Gladstone Golf Club. A fun day out of the office and a great opportunity to mix business with pleasure.

Combined Sponsorship
If you would like to support GAGAL at more than one event, please consider a Combined Sponsorship
Package. These packages provide corporate exposure at all events and depending on the level of
sponsorship include complimentary tickets to each event.
GAGAL will require you to provide an electronic version of your company logo and any specific signage for
each event.
Combined Platinum $11,000.00 incl GST
There are only two (2) Platinum Sponsorship places available and therefore offers our most exclusive
advertising opportunities. This category ensures prominent signage and maximum exposure at every
GAGAL event.
