Matthews narrates his experiences as he discovered the life of Georges Perec. He tells that it is not unfitting to discuss Perec in this particular fashion, which is, in truth, a product of loss. Also, he knows that loss is what is now most vivid about Perec, so honoring him form issuing wholly from loss. Moreover, he shares his sacrifices in achieving his goals towards this story.
