    C    olumbian mammoths weighed as much as 10 tons
          and stood nearly 14 feet high at the shoulder, taller than the woolly mammoths

    dying from the same event is in Waco, Tex. Researchers continue to investigate the site,
    hoping to discover more about how the mammoths lived and how they died.          ¶ Construction
    is underway to build a protective structure over the remains of several of the
