LINE Communications started trading in recession in 1989 and was then hit hard in 2002 along with the rest of the e-learning industry as the dot-com bubble burst. The industry has put down stronger roots since 2002 and many of LINE's clients have a blended agenda at the core of their learning and development strategies. LINE runs a blended service and, in some cases, they are finding tile demand for e-learning is growing as organizations cut back on elements of face-to-face training that require extensive travel and hotel costs -- this also suits the green agenda. While government spending will remain relatively intact in 2009 and 2010, it is likely to be slashed in 2011. They need to use technology and they need to use it intelligently. The Next Generation Learning campaign aimed at schools has been successfully launched, with significant coverage in the national press, online and on the radio.
