There are a number of studies that look at the evidence of the success of learning technologies in workplace learning. Evidence from large scale, independent studies has an important role in helping organizations to get started and certainly shows that learning technologies are anything but a fad. You might think e-learning providers that have the most to gain would have some of the best evidence around to ensure a conviction. Technology enabled compliance learning provides a compelling argument. Technology allowed the whole intervention to be focused around both the individual and the team, allowing team resources and strengths to be reviewed and succession planning included. For some organizations, having staff with relevant qualifications is a business imperative for either competitive or regulatory reasons. While the focus is on business survival and motivation of good staff, traditional statistics on course completions and cost cuts alone are no longer enough.
