E-learning is positioned as part of a flexible training solution, rather than being the total solution in itself, but these are not ordinary times. When it comes to commissioning high quality e-learning, the need is to take practical steps to both reduce costs and improve performance. With the clever use of first class instructional design and content development, e-learning can be entertaining, amusing and deliver enormous impact. The combination of instructional design, creativity, drama, humor, animation and graphics, all seamlessly blended with innovation and technology, can make e-learning dynamic, exciting and engaging. Organizations that invest in well-designed e-learning can develop a stronger skills base with improved organizational performance as a result. E-learning can be measured by results and it will yield benefits if learners buy in and use it, but they will only do that if they can engage with the learning concepts.
