Carry-On Baggage: dimensions: 51 linear in or 130 cm (L+W+H) and 40lbs In addition to the one carry-on item, you may bring free-of-charge the below items: one small personal article such as a briefcase, purse, day planner, small laptop computer, camera case, compact disk player or similar sized personal entertainment item personal aid devices such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, prosthetic devices and walking sticks, provided passenger is dependent on them one infant article such as a small collapsible stroller, a diaper bag or a government approved child seat (larger strollers can be checked in the jetway prior to boarding the aircraft) Note: Most knives are not allowed past the security checkpoint (including, but not limited to, pocket knives, folding or retractable blades regardless of blade length or composition, box cutters, X-Acto knives, scissors with a pointed tip, straight razors, Leatherman or Swiss Army Knives). Plastic and round-bladed (not serrated) knives are permitted in carry-on baggage. Battery operated personal air-purifying devices are prohibited onboard all Continental flights. Laptop computers must be removed from their cases and placed on the baggage belt at the security checkpoint. American Airlines/ American Eagle Carry-ON: Size and Number of Pieces FAA security measures limit customers on all AA flights to one carry-on bag plus one personal item. All carry-on pieces, including laptops, must fit either underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin. The one carry-on bag must fit in an overhead compartment or under the seat. It should not exceed 45 linear inches (length + width + height) or weigh more than 40 lbs/18 kgs. Carry-on items which appear too large or irregularly shaped to fit under a seat, in an overhead compartment, or in a closet will not be accepted as carry-on baggage and will need to be checked. At times, additional limits may be placed on carry-on baggage based on the main cabin stowage capacity of specific aircraft. o These limits may be imposed after the boarding process has begun. o Some carry-on baggage may be stowed in a cargo compartment on selected American Eagle aircraft. At some airports, carry-on baggage may be more restricted. All other luggage must be checked at curbside or at the ticket counter. Passengers exceeding the carry-on limit will not be allowed through the security checkpoint. All portable electronic devices, including laptops, must remain off during taxi, takeoff, approach and landing until we arrive at the gate and the seat belt sign is turned off. Jet Blue Carry-on Requirements Each customer may bring one bag that fits in the overhead bin plus one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop, etc.) that fits under the seat in front of you. Your personal item must not exceed 18"l x 15"w x 8"h in order to fit under the seat in front of you. To fit in the overhead bin, your item must not exceed: for our Airbus A320: 26 inches length x 18 inches width x 12 inches height for our EMBRAER 190: 24 inches length x 16 inches width x 10 inches height If you have a medical assistance item, it will not count as a carryon. Closets for hanging garment bags are not available on our aircraft. As a reminder, random bag searches are required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and all items are subject to being hand searched. Carryon baggage is the sole responsibility of the customer and JetBlue will assume no liability for property carried onboard the aircraft. Domestic Flights Note: Flights to and from Puerto Rico follow the domestic baggage allowance. Free Baggage Allowance You may bring two bags per person free of charge. Each bag must not exceed 62 inches in overall dimensions (length plus width plus height) and can not exceed 50 pounds. Excess, Overweight, or Oversized Baggage Excess, overweight, or oversized baggage may be checked on a load availability basis per the guidelines below: Excess bags will be accepted for a fee of $50 per bag. Checking in Your Bags All baggage must be checked at the airport at least 30 minutes prior to flight departure Baggage will not be accepted for check in more than four hours prior to a flight's scheduled departure time; please check ticket counter hours. Exceptions to Size/Weight Allowance on Domestic Flights Exceptions to the size/weight allowance are as follows: Military Customers with one duffel bag, b-4 bag, or sea bag which exceeds the 62 inches in dimensions in lieu of one free bag. Hanging garment bags, sample bags, and bags with outside length, width, and height exceeding 80 inches, up to 10 inches, will be accepted if flexible.
