Applicant(s) shall submit the following items along with the application: 1. 2. 3. Submittal fee of $3500.00. 300’ Radius map (prepared on Assessor’s pages) showing all affected parcels within 300’ of the subject property. 3 stamped sets (if public street) or 2 stamped sets (if private street) of addressed envelopes to all property owners within 300’ from the boundaries of the subject property. Please be sure to place APN numbers on all the address labels. Check for $150.00 for each panel of the new public street name signs. Applicants for private street name revisions are required to provide the new street name signs at their expense per required standards (MUTCD 2003 & California Supplement). Private street name signs will have green letters on white background. Public street name signs will have white letters on green background. Fee collected for signs will be placed in account no. 201-4040-444-2760 List of all property owners within 300’ of subject property. 8 ½ x 11 map showing street and all affected parcels with nearest cross streets.

Procedure for Renaming Private Streets
The procedure that has been developed for processing street name changes is as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. A Request for Street Name Change is submitted in the form of a completed application. City staff processes the application into a petition and a project number is assigned and fees collected. The petition is mailed out by City staff to all property owners, as established by the County Assessors roll, who may be affected by the proposed street name change and to all inter-office departments and affected agencies. Appropriate public agencies are notified of the proposal and are requested to comment on it (30 days). Staff will analyze the feedback from the circulated petition and any comments from the above public agencies. If there are no objections, the name will be recommended to the City Engineer for approval. Notices will be mailed by the City to affected parties. The applicant is responsible for purchasing signage per MUTCD 2003 & California Supplement standards. The signs shall be ordered and installed within 30 days of the approved name change. (For questions, please call Traffic Engineering Department at (760) 633-2770.) The Engineering Inspector will verify installation of the signs. Final notification letter for new addresses will be prepared by the Planning and Building Department (Cindy O’Grady – (760) 633-2684).

The procedure that has been developed for processing street name changes is as follows: 1. A Request for Street Name Change is submitted in the form of a completed application. City staff processes the application into a petition and a project number is assigned and fees collected. 2. The petition is mailed out by City staff to all property owners, as established by the County Assessors roll, who may be affected by the proposed street name change. 3. Appropriate public agencies are notified of the proposal and are requested to comment on it. 4. Staff will analyze the feedback from the circulated petition and any comments from the above public agencies. 5. A notice will be mailed out to the property owners informing them of the results of the circulated petition and a date of hearing by the City Council. 6. At the scheduled public hearing, staff will provide the City Council with the results of the circulated petition and feedback from public agencies. (Staff prepares Agenda Report and Resolution). 7. City Council will then take action to approve, deny, or continue the request to another scheduled City Council meeting. Council may also require staff to provide other alternatives or information before making a final decision. 8. Once the street name change is approved, the Resolution will be recorded at the County Recorder’s office (recording fees to be paid by the applicant). 9. Notices will be mailed by the City to the affected agencies. 10. Sign changes: City requires the benefited property owners to pay the actual costs of labor and materials. ($150.00 per each panel). Fee collected for signs will be placed in account no. 201-4040-444-2760 11. Forward Traffic Engineering a request for street name signs and a copy of the fees receipt collected for signs. 12.
