Effective October 1, 2005 Southern California Water Company, ArdenCordova Water Service and California Cities Water Company will be collectively known as Golden State Water Company. The new name will promote state-wide identity. Does the name change mean that SCWC has been sold? No. The name of Bear Valley Electric Service remains the same. Bear Valley Electric, which serves more than 20,000 customers in the communities surrounding Big Bear Lake, will continue to be a division of the regulated water company, Golden State Water Company. This new name expresses our pride — as a leading public water utility serving residents in the Golden State — while conveying our growth and unity as one brand, rather than three.
