Spring 2009 Computer Class Schedule
Red Bluff High School Adult Education 1295 Red Bud (off Douglass Street, just past the bus barn) These FREE classes are slow to medium-paced, designed for the beginning adult computer user. Please call Adult Education at 529-8757 to sign-up for individual classes. For more information call Christy Vail at 200-2661. Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday: January 12-February 4 (4 weeks) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors (Level 1) This slow-paced class is designed for students with no computer experience. Learn how to use a mouse before navigating through Microsoft Windows XP. 4:00-5:30 Introduction to Computers (Level 2) 5:30-7:00 Introduction to Computers (Level 2) This class is medium-paced and designed for students who have some experience with computers (such as playing games). Learn to master mouse movements, navigate through Microsoft Windows XP, save and retrieve documents. February 9-25 (only 4 days total- due to Winter Break) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors continues 4:00-5:30 Intro to Word Processing (Level 3) 5:30-7:00 Intro to Word Processing (Level 3) Learn how to write letters, format text, spell check, insert clipart, and get help for your own projects using Microsoft Word. April 20-May 13 (4 weeks) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors (Level 1) New session! 4:00-5:30 Intro to Email and Internet (Level 3) 5:30-7:00 Intro to Email and Internet (Level 3) Using the school’s web mail, learn how to create and send email, use attachments, and add names to an address book. Using the Internet, learn how to find old friends, shop online, bookmark favorite websites, or change your home page. Explore fun, educational, and resourceful websites anywhere in the world!
May 18-June 10 (4 weeks) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors (Level 1) 4:00-5:30 More Windows XP (Level 3) 5:30-7:00 More Windows XP (Level 3) Increase your new Windows skills and begin to understand and control your computer. Manage document files and folders. Back up files to removable storage devices such as a CD or flash drive plus learn how to maintain your computer.
Summer 2009 Classes
June 15-July 1 (3 weeks) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors (Level 1) New session! 4:00-5:30 Intro to Spreadsheets (Level 4) 5:30-7:00 Intro to Spreadsheets (Level 4) Students will be introduced to Microsoft Excel for recordkeeping, sorting, calculating information, and making charts. Learn how to use mathematical formulas and find templates on the Internet that you can download and change to fit your needs. July 6-15 (2 weeks) 2:30-3:30 Beginning Computers for Seniors continues 4:00-5:30 Intro to Digital Photos (Level 3) 5:30-7:00 Intro to Digital Photos (Level 3) Learn how to transfer photos from your camera to the computer, rotate photos, save onto a CD, and create a slide show.
Note: This schedule is a draft. It may change depending on student’s needs or the school district’s attendance requirements. Minimum attendance is 8, maximum is 15.
