THE BIOTECHNOLOGY ACADEMY is the newest addition to
the Andrew P. Hill High School Medical/Health Professions
Magnet. This academy is a three-year program dedicated
to producing students with skills necessary to enter the work-
force and college. We are currently in our second year of
operation with 96 students. We have a core group of 7
teachers dedicated to working with students in the program.
During the sophomore year, students will have the oppor-
tunity to listen to guest speakers from the biotechnology
industry and go on field trips to learn about biotechnology.
In the junior year, students will take Chemistry with a
Biotech focus in preparation for their summer internships
in the biotechnology industry. Students will also meet with
a mentor once a month from the biotechnology industry.
In the senior year, students will take Biotechnology to refine
