Our Challenge
We are honoured to be able to plan the 22nd Annual CCDI Conference, to be held
from May 17 - 20, 2010 at Deerhurst Resort, Huntsville Ontario. The theme of this
year’s conference is “It All Starts Here - Transitioning from Secondary School to
College or University”.

We are actively looking for partners who can share our vision and want to be
part of the excitement! Corporate sponsors have played an integral role in past
conferences, and without sponsors we would be unable to host such a high calibre
event.

About CCDI
CCDI acts as an advisory body to Student Access and Success Coordinating
Committee (SASCC) to identify, research, and make appropriate recommendations
on system-wide issues, policies and practices affecting students with disabilities, and
from time to time, undertake specific assignments as directed by or for submission
to SASCC.

How We Help
Under the umbrella of SASCC, CCDI acts as a resource to recommend policies and
procedures for the implementation of services to students with disabilities.
As an Ontario-wide committee, CCDI distributes the most recent information about
serving students with disabilities.
CCDI will identify, research, and make recommendations for consideration by the
Committee of Presidents, through the SASCC.
CCDI, on occasion, develops and distributes resources and materials to sensitize
staff and students to the unique needs, capabilities and potential of students with
disabilities. CCDI will undertake specific projects as appropriate.
The CCDI Executive Committee maintains close association with the staff of the
Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).

Mission Statement
The mission of the College Committee on Disability Issues (CCDI) is to promote and
provide quality leadership in the development and delivery of support services to
students with disabilities, in order to enhance educational opportunities and student
success, foster the college communities’ awareness of and support for persons with
disabilities, while promoting partnership among students, program departments and
support service departments.
