CHALLENGE – Imagine waiting at the start gate and getting geared up to race
breathing only with a straw in your mouth. People with cystic fibrosis (CF) are
Jan 17 - Mar 22 congested and this is what it feels like for them. The Toshiba Breath of Life
Performance & Challenge is a four-person corporate team ski challenge with an assigned sport
legend, taking place Feb 19 at Blue Mountain, and Feb 26 at Mont Gabriel.
Review Zones Raise funds for CF and join us in the fight to make a difference in the lives of
Refined by the those living with cystic fibrosis. You won’t believe how giving someone the
CSIA breath of life will take yours away.

RECENT FAQ’S
Q: Am I covered under the CSIA Accident Insurance when skiing in a foreign country or the USA?
A: NO. The CSIA Accident Insurance does not cover you while skiing or teaching off Canadian soil. You
must attain your own accident insurance (Blue Cross for example) when travelling, skiing, and/ or
teaching in another country.

Q: What is the policy for Course Cancellations?
A: The CSIA holds the right to cancel a course at anytime. Course participants are contacted by the
National Office to inform them of a cancelled course.

COURSES
-CLUB MED, CRESTED BUTTE COURSES A SUCCESS! “With the risk of repeating myself, once again I
want to thank you for making what we do with the CSIA possible.

Both of the clinics were a great success and experience for all instructors. Besides personally
complementing Josh's expertise and professionalism, I would also like to do it on behalf of our entire ski
school, Club Med staff and Resort employees. The impression Josh left on Club Med, and the resort is one
the CSIA can be more than proud of.

We look forward to building on these past experiences and working on future projects along side the CSIA.

De la part de toute l'equipe du Club Med de Crested Butte encore une fois, Merci.”

Amicalement,
David Meyer
Technical director, Club Med Crested Butte Ski School

PARK & PIPE UPDATE
RE-TEST POLICY REVIEW - As it stands now, a candidate who fails a component of the CSIA Park & Pipe
course (ski or teach) has to take the whole course over again at the full price. This policy is based on the
old Level 1 policy when the course was 3 days.

A new re-test policy for Park & Pipe is now being investigated, which will allow the CSIA to be more
flexible for participants who already have one foot in the door. There is also a possibility that the Park &
Pipe course will become 4 days. If this succeeds, then the actual rule of the 4-day Level 1 would be
applied: a 2-day re-test for participants that fail one or both components. We will keep all members
posted with any changes.
