Hello Shark den! As promised, I have created the schedule for the entire 2 year Webelos program. This schedule has two parts: 1) the actual dates of the den meetings for the 2008-2009 Web I year only and 2) the parental participation assignments for both years (Web I & II) I tried my best to assign you something that interested you or a field in which you may have some knowledge. That said, if you have a problem with your participation assignment you may exchange the assignment with another, but the DATE and the ASSIGNMENT TOPIC cannot change. If you make a change, please notify me ASAP. I will have for each of you an entire den meeting plan. There are two parts: The "Fast Tracks" program along with the Webelos Den Leader Guide. While you will be leading the den meeting(s), you will coordinate with me on the activities (for supplies, time, etc.) You'll understand more once you see the information I have for you. You may obtain additional information from your son's Webelos handbook. FYI: many of the activity pins take more than one den meeting AND we might be covering more than one activity pin during a meeting. The purpose is to cover as much as possible as some requirements take time to complete. Also, you might be working with another parent on an activity pin. This is because there are a lot of items to cover. Finally, if your son attends all the den meetings, he will: 1) Earn his Webelos rank award by the Blue and Gold in 2/09 2) Earn his Arrow of Light award by the Blue and Gold in 2/10 3) Earn his Compass Award with ALL points by the Blue and Gold in 2/10 4) Earn the Webelos "Super Achiever" Award by the Blue and Gold in 2/10 (with one exception I will discuss later) To answer the impending question "What if my son misses a den meeting?" A: you do the work at home like you have done in the past. This program will MAKE IT EASIER ON YOU!
