PROPOSAL GUIDELINES

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES FOR FUNDING REQUESTS (Information regarding requests for funds from the Laveen Lions) Mission Statement: The Laveen Lions seek to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary service through community involvement and international cooperation. The Laveen Lions Foundation requires that approved documentation including pricing, quotes, etc. be used to submit proposals for funding at least 60 days prior to need... The Laveen Lions Foundation requires fund recipients report either in person or in writing following the activity/event on how funds were utilized and what was accomplished. The Laveen Lions Foundation Board members are responsible for voting on all submitted proposals and determination is based on need, benefits to individuals/community, and the availability of funds. The Laveen Lions Foundation requests recipients volunteer to help at Lions sponsored events. Some requests require funding applicants be Laveen residents. Laveen is defined as west of 27th Avenue, south of the Salt River and borders the Gila River Reservation. All requests for funding for school related programs/projects, etc., must be approved in writing by the district superintendent before presentation to Laveen Lions Foundation Board for consideration. Students requesting funds should present their reasons, qualifications, and community involvement, and other supporting documents as part of their proposal. Also, the applicant should be prepared to state any past/current/future additional fundraising efforts to offset amounts requested from the Laveen Lions Foundation. The Laveen Lion’s Club urges all proposals be presented in person to the membership so as to field any questions about proposed event/project, etc. It is understood that the Laveen Lions Foundation’s approval of an applicant’s proposal will be based on availability of funds, financial needs, benefits to individuals/community and may require additional financial documentation. The Laveen Lions Foundation Board meets the 3rd Thursday of each month to consider proposals. The Laveen Lions Foundation reserves the right to revise these guidelines as needed b57be6ca-fea1-41ad-8f85-15f618882441.doc revised 071
