Please consider this letter of inquiry an expression of my interest in exploring employment opportunities
with your organization. Dr. Janet Stodelmeyer suggested that I contact you, citing your organization's
excellent reputation as an advocate for animal protection and welfare.
I am particularly interested in the combination of political initiatives and community education in which
your organization specializes. As a political science major at the University of Connecticut, I have
focused my studies on the area of animal rights. I have extensively researched the relevant state and fed-
eral case laws surrounding this topic and look forward to the opportunity to apply this knowledge further.
Last year I participated in an internship with the Environmental Protection Agency. This opportunity was
an incredible learning experience allowing me to make several government connections and acquire
knowledge of how the federal process works. In addition, I founded the Animal Rights Coalition with the
intent of raising awareness and ending animal suffering on campus. My communication and leadership
skills have been greatly developed as a result of this endeavor.
I am passionate about reducing and ending the suffering inflicted by humans on animals and am confident
that I would be an asset to your organization. Please feel free to contact me at the phone number and
email address above. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
