Parking in Oxford is a nightmare, worse than London. This sheet has been compiled to help you find the best
Pay and Display Parking – Streets in the vicinity of College
There are a good number of parking bays with Pay and Display machines in the streets around College and
charges, revised in January 2010, are set out below.

Norham Gardens Up to 1 hour - £1.50 be displayed
Up to 2 hours ( max) - £2.50
Bradmore Road, Crick Road, Up to 1 hour - £1.50
Norham Road -north of Up to 3 hours (max) -£2.50
After 6.30pm there is no charge and no ticket required
Parking for Disabled
Unlimited Parking is permissible free of charge in Pay and Display and in Residents’ Parking bays of which there
are many in Museum, Blackwell and Keble Roads, if Disabled Badge is clearly displayed.
It is permissible to park on Double Yellow lines (not Loading areas) for a maximum of 3 hours only provided it is
a safe place; Keble, Blackwell or Museum Roads, but not Parks Road, and the Disabled Badge is clearly displayed.

On Street Parking – North Oxford
Parking in the residential streets north of College and north of Park Town (on the Banbury Road) is now for
Residents’ Parking Permits only.
Park and Ride
There are 5 Park and Ride schemes around Oxford, at the four compass points, with two to the north. These are
well sign posted from the main approach roads to Oxford. There is no cost for leaving your car, however,
Peartree (north), Redbridge (south), Seacourt (west) and Water Eaton (north) all cost £2.20 and Thornhill
(east) will cost £2.50 for a return bus fare. Please note only Water Eaton and Thornhill will now allow you to
park for more than 24 hours and Water Eaton is not open on a Sunday (however, the buses for Kidlington, nos 2
& 2A both stop outside .
Buses run frequently (every 10 -15 minutes) to and from the centre of Oxford up until approx. 6.30pm and then
approx. every 30 minutes. The last bus to each of the Park & Rides leaves the centre of Oxford between 11pm
and 11.50 pm. It is strongly advised to hide any valuables from view and park near site offices or bus terminals
where lighting is good. Information on buses can be obtained 01865 785 400 or www.parkandride.net.
Secure Locked Parking
Gloucester Green car park (off Beaumont Street) is locked and secure from 12am until 7.15am. Parking Permits
should be obtained in advance from 01865 794307 at a cost of £20.50 for 24 hours.
Other City Car parks
Payment is on exit either at the control office which is open on a Sundays or ticket machine. Charges are by the
hour and it is possible to park overnight at a cost of £18.20 for 24 hours. For information please call 01865
Parking by pre-bought ticket at machine for limited time.
Science Area Parking
There are a limited number of parking spaces available in the Science area (opposite College) which requires a
University permit. Permits are £8 each (a charge incurred by the University) and are valid from 5pm Friday
evening until 7 pm Sunday evening. They are available from the College.
If you would like a Permit for this event, please complete the form below and return it to the Development Office
with your booking. Please note that permits will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and will be sent
out prior to the event. If you are unsuccessful, you will be notified by email.
