UBS has been imparting quality management education to develop dedicated and effective managers, researchers and teachers for more than three decades. In 1995 the Department of Commerce and Business Management was renamed as University Business School by Panjab University in recognition of its completeness and maturity as a centre of management education in India. The transformation from a Department to a Business School gives it a distinct identity as a school of thought.
Sponsorship Proposal for
The philosophy of management education in UBS is to build on an integrated valuesystem. It is monitored by duty bound work ethics, a business approach and a scientific temper. This philosophy of the school translates into the mission of creating wholesome personality with a view to produce effective and efficient managers. The faculty of UBS, trained in India and abroad, has earned international recognition in industry and academia. The excellence of UBS can be judged by the praise worthy performance of its product – the Alumni. Our Alumni The Alumni of UBS occupy top echelons of the Indian Industry and are among the Who’s-who of the corporate world. They all have carved a niche for themselves spreading the name of UBS in India as well as abroad. The alumni of UBS have always had a soft corner for their alma mater and they keep in touch with the school to assist in activities like placements, seminars, admissions, examination work and promoting academic excellence etc. University Business School Alumni Association (UBSAA) was formed by the joint efforts of the Alumni and the School to act as an interface between the two.
The Event (Reunion) Every year UBSAA organises a Reunion of alumni along with the Annual General Meeting. In the last couple of years the event has gathered a phenomenal pace and is getting popular among the alumni. The AGM meet as well as the Reunion is a grand show that witnesses a unique fusion of experience (of Alumni) with dynamism (of Budding Managers). Over 300 members attended the reunion last year from all over the country and around 10 came in from Overseas too. This year the Reunion is planned for 18th December, 2004.
What’s therein for the Sponsors? UBS is one of the top B-Schools in India and being associated with it is a source of pride for any organisation. The sponsorship of the Reunion will give the sponsors an exceptional audience of the highest echelon in management at one place, which is rare. Also the event that is one of its kinds in this region receives huge publicity and large media coverage. This will also provide the sponsors an opportunity to sponsor further events at UBS.
The Promotion Plan Event Sponsorship: We expect an amount of Rs. 4,00,000/- for blanket sponsorship, which will entitle the main sponsors for: 1. *2. *3. *4. *5. *6. *7. *8. *9. 10. Attaching their name with the event. Their Banner being displayed at the entrance of the Panjab University gates and the venue for the dinner. Their Insignia will be placed on the dais or backdrop of stage (as found convenient by the organisers). Their banners being displayed in and around UBS premises. Their insignia on the badges of the alumni, organisers and the students. Stickers of sponsors can be placed on the packing of the mementos. A banner will be put on the stage at all the venues. Name of the sponsors will be highlighted in the UBS website in the section covering the event. Executive Bags, diaries, notepads, pens or any other stationery given to the alumni will carry the name of the sponsor. Names of the sponsors will be highlighted in the news releases to different newspapers.

Co-Sponsors: i) Dinner Sponsorship ( for Rs. 3,00,000/-) – It will be attended by the alumni, faculty and prominent persons from Industry. Likely attendance would be around 500 people. ii) Lunch Sponsorship ( for Rs. 100,000/-) – It will be attended by the alumni, faculty and the students of UBS. Likely attendance would be around 400 people. iii) Tea Sponsorship ( for Rs. 50,000/-) – It will be organised on Saturday evening. and attended by the alumni with their families, faculty and other invited guests. Likely attendance would be around 300 people. Adequate Press coverage will be provided for co-Sponsors. Associate Sponsors: iv) Rs. 10,000/- each of the benefits covered under points 2,3 and 5 under ‘Event Sponsorship’.
