Technical RIDER : Soul Doctor Page 1 of 5 If you have concerns about any of the following items, please contact us as soon as possible … • PA-System You must provide a professional 3 or 4-way active PA-system (L-ACOUSTICS, JBL, EAW, EV or equivalent) that will produce a minimum of 110dB SPL across the entire auditorium covering the range between 35Hz and 16KHz with speaker and amplifier-headroom! The system must be fully working and free from noise or mains hum. • FOH Mixing-Console You must provide a professional mixing-console (MIDAS, Soundcraft, Yamaha, Soundtracs or equivalent) with a minimum of 32 channels, each of them with 4 band EQ (2 parametric bands at least !!), 8 groups (or VCAs) and 4 AUX-sends. One word about Digital Mixing Consoles If you provide a digital mixer, use one that is designed for LIVE-mixing! Also make sure, that the FOH-assistant is not a novice with that special mixer. This means, that he/she has to be able to answer more than just simple questions about the console!! The following digital consoles will NOT be accepted: - YAMAHA 01V96 - YAMAHA 02R Outboard gear 2 channels of 1/3 octave Equalizers must be available to filter the PA-System! preferred EQs include: Klark-Teknik DN27, DN360 / BSS FCS-960 In addition 1/3 octave Equalizers and adequate delay-units, must be available for every additional SpeakerSystem (Front/Center-Clusters, Balcony-Delays, etc.) 2 Digital Reverbs and 1 Digital Delay must be available. preferred Reverbs include: Lexicon PCM-Series / Yamaha SPX-Series preferred Delays include: T.C. D-Two / Yamaha SPX 990 - Delay must have a TAP-feature - must produce at least 1000ms of delay 6 Gates and 4 compressors must be available. preferred Gates include: DRAWMER DS-201 / BSS DPR-502 / Klark-Teknik DN-514 preferred Compressors include: dbx160 / BSS DPR-402 / Klark-Teknik DN-504 • Monitors What we bring along We provide our complete IN-Ear Monitor-System, including our own monitor-mixing console, all required microphones and DIs, a passive split-multicore and 5 wireless UHF-channels. (Frequency-details on page 3!) Setup In order to setup our monitor-console, we need a space of approx. 1,5 x 1,5 m, allowing good sight onto stage and which must not be more than 15 metres away from your main stagebox. To hookup with your system we will usually “collect” our channels from your stagebox, if that provides paralleled XLR-outputs(male). If your stagebox does not provide parallel-outs, we can patch all required channels “through” our stagebox into your system’s stagebox. Technical RIDER : Soul Doctor Page 2 of 5 • … still Monitors Conventional Monitoring In addition to our In-Ear system, we will still use your local conventional monitoring to backup our lead-singer. You must at least provide 2 professional wedges, with a minimum of 1 * 12” and 1 * 2” speaker. Actively driven wedges are highly welcome! Wedges must be able to produce an average SPL of at least 105dB and peaks up to at least 120dB, so please provide amplifiers with enough headroom! No compressors allowed in the signal-path of monitoring!!! On bigger stages(10 metres wide or more), you must provide a professional pair of side-fills on 2 additional mixes. A 1/3 octave equalizer must be available for every monitor-mix!! • On Stage Microphone-Stands & XLR-Cables Although we do provide all necessary microphones and DIs, we need a suitable amount of your XLR-cables to wire up our inputs! In addition we need the following microphone stands: • 7 x Tall Boom Stand (Standard or extendable boom-arm) o 5 of them as indicated on the channel-list o 2 of them to mount our wireless-antennas • 1 x Low-Level Stand with short arm (to pickup the rhythm guitar) • 1 x Straight Stand with solid round metal-base (for our lead singer) Drum-Riser Please provide a solid drum-riser sized at least 2x2m with a height of at least 40–60 cm. SECURITY-NOTICE: Make sure that there is no danger of falling from the backside of the drum-riser, by providing railings, where necessary! Power outlets Please provide properly grounded power-outlets at the positions marked in the stage-plot. What else ? If local power is at 110 Volts please provide 3 transformers with 220 V/350 W output. • Backdrop / Logo Please provide some space in your backtruss, where we can hang up our Logo which is sized approx.3 x 3 m. • Lights Please provide a suitable amount of lights(depending on venue-size) with a good selection of colours. In bigger venues(>800 visitors) please provide at least … • 4 moving-lights(Moving-Head or Scanners) • 1 follow-spot(1KW minimum) • 2 pairs of ACL-bars. Technical RIDER : Soul Doctor Page 3 of 5 • Wireless Frequencies LeadVocal Microphone Our lead-singer provides 1 channel of Beyerdynamic’s Opus 900 series wireless microphones, which can be tuned within the range of 774 – 798 MHz. InEar Transmitters We are using 5 channels of Beyerdynamic’s IMS 900 series In-Ear System, where each channel can be set to 1 of 16 fixed frequencies between 842.450 and 864.900 MHz.
