Project Proposal and Workplan Template VATA project

Project Proposal and Workplan Template – VATA project 2007 1) First you must choose the concept/topic you will be addressing. Talk with your group for 5 minutes about which of the following topics you want to produce a poster about. Each topic will have its own challenges and rewards along the way. 2) Once you have chosen a topic, your group needs to decide on 1 – 2 key questions that your poster will answer. Write these questions here. 3) Now write down your first ideas about how to answer your questions from above. (You will be revising these after you have collected additional information through your research in English class) 4) Brainstorm as many ideas as possible (at least one from each member from your group?) about how to engage your audience, grab their attention, and make the topic look exciting, while keeping the topic relevant to Chemistry and teaching what you want to teach. 5) Choose your top 3 ideas for themes to make your project enhanced with visual arts and technology. Rank them by your 1st choice to use, 2nd choice and 3rd choice. As you move into the design phase, if your first project doesn’t seem to work in the way you want it to, your group may choose to start again, using the 2nd choice theme. 6) Write down what questions you found you have on this topic, what additional information you need to collect. Write everything in the form of a question. Assign questions to each person in your group to do research. Make clear whether you need detailed information or just a general summary. 7) Write a detailed description of what information you will be teaching and what strategies you will be using to make your poster and topic look exciting and interesting. You should include every detail possible, talking about elements of your poster and presentation. For example, talk about colors if you have decided certain colors will make it exciting; talk about what kind of pictures you will use, if they are part of your plan for helping people understand your topic; talk about layout, if you are planning on organizing elements in a way that will specifically draw and lead your viewer’s eyes. 8) Decide on a title of your project, a slogan to “pitch” your idea (something that describes the theme you’re using or the way you are going to describe your audience’s attention), and a BREIF description of the Chemistry topic and how you are going to make it learnable and exciting (basically a summary of the above information).
