					1.0 Introduction

Since its inception in 1994, ITG Communications Sdn Bhd is a pioneer in providing
telecommunication products and services in Malaysia. Our key business is providing
wholesale and retail on voice and data service in the domestic and overseas market,
managing turnkey projects such as fibre optic cable network, microwave radio, cross connect
and frame relay data networks, VSAT, and other telecommunication infrastructure works was
awarded the Application Service Provider Individual License (ASP April 2003) and Network
Service Provider Individual License (NSP-I April 2005) by the Malaysian Communications and
Multimedia Commission (MCMC) that enables us to provide voice over internet protocol
(VOIP), telephone and data services in Malaysia and abroad.



ITG Trax Sdn Bhd (iTrax) is a business unit of ITGCSB in collaboration with a Singapore
based leading provider of fleet management solutions incorporating GPS, GIS and internet
technologies, GPS Asset Tracking, vessel/ship fuel monitoring, ship/vessel and yacht
onboard security and access monitoring, buoy location markings, light-house remote
monitoring, satellite images for fishing and disaster management.


We are pleased to put forward a proposal for a dynamic, real-time web based GPS/GPRS
Assisted Vehicle Monitoring and Security Enforcement System; i-Trax that offer key policing
function to enforce that all the pre-planned routes and events milestones are automated track
and feedback to the command & control or security personnel, so as to maximize usage of
the assigned resources and importantly ensuring security during its transit.


In this paper, we are pleased to put forward a proposal for the customer to utilize an
enterprise-based systems GPS Vehicle Monitoring, Enforcement Application integrated with
FTMS assess through a centrally hosted system in our data centre to ensure continuous
visibility and security of your vehicles. In addition, customer vehicles shall be installed with a
powerful telematics based Vehicle Command Unit (VCU) to facilitate constant monitoring of
the vehicle via GPS and capturing of essential telematics data through GPRS. For added
security, our system comes with an Anti-Hijack System for events based or over the air
immobilization of distressed vehicles.

2.0 i-Trax web based, real-time Vehicle Monitoring System


A structured location-based vehicle identification and milestones tracking application
deployment platform, the proposed system empowers transportation companies to effective
identify and track its fleet of vehicles in real time using the Global Positioning System (GPS)
to pinpoint current locations. Communicating wirelessly with the Vehicle Command Unit
(VCU), the device provides multiple I/O ports to link to vehicle various sensing points, which
facilitate telematics data to be captured and transmitted back to the web-based application for
monitoring purposes.



The vehicle positioning and telematics data shall then be synchronized back to the web-
based application through GSM network using GPRS/SMS, which enables the traffic
controller through a Internet-based command centre interactive menu, obtain the co-ordinates
and display the individual geographical position of each vehicle with the captured telematics
information.



The key features of the proposed GPS Assisted Vehicle Monitoring & Security Enforcement
System shall comprise:

•   Processing of vehicles’ co-ordinates and publish the individual geographical position of
    each vehicle on a digital map.
•   Real-time tracking of vehicles and capturing of vehicles’ position.
•   Web based interface with ease of assess via. any Internet connection to allow the
    command & control or security personnel, management team and even customers to
    monitor its resources anytime and anywhere.
•   Off-line analysis (playback) of vehicles using data recorded earlier.
•   Data acquisition from vehicles on user demand or pre-defined interval.
•   Geo-boundary setting for route, site violation control, virtual checks points and estimation
    of time of arrival to customers’ sites.
•   Delivery milestones updates and reporting for key performance indicators measurement.
•   Reports generation for Drivers Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) measurement.
•   Advance mapping features for detailed zooming and panning on map contents for
    precision location monitoring.
•   On-line settings for SMS alerts to operation personnel hand phones for off-line violation
    control and security assurance.

•   SMS enquiry of location and status of vehicle via mobile phone.

The vehicle positions updates can be flexibility carried out automatically at regular intervals or
by the occurrence of specific events set by the administrator from the browser-based
application. The traffic controller shall be able via a web interface poll and identify each
vehicle position on their personal computer screen.


All incoming and outgoing tracking activities via the PC station are recorded to facilitate the
creation of a geographical information assisted reports which details multiple or single vehicle
live tracked position. The system also allows play back of vehicle routes from the historical
data which were stored and archived in the centralized database.

Utilizing Geo-Boundary concept, the system allows customer to search via street name and
address points for a particular location and manually geo-bound site on the digital map in
accordance to its monitoring parameters like postal codes/address points, the defined routes,
violation time windows etc. to facilitate automatic milestones updates, ensuring vehicles stay
and travel within boundary at the right time and right place.

The system also provides standard reports to assist user in managing the key performance
indicators of drivers and analyze the historical routes data travelled by the vehicle. The
following reports are provided as standard in the service model GPS Vehicle Monitoring
Application:

•   Total Journey Summary for each Vehicle
•   Speed Profile


The system also provides standard reports to assist user in managing the key performance
indicators of drivers and analyze the historical routes data travelled by the vehicle. The

5.0 G-Trax100 Advanced GPS/GPRS Vehicle Monitoring System

G-Trax100 integrated with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver, it is designed to monitor and
manage vehicles and mobile assets at a reasonable cost. With its small form factor, G-
Trax100 is easily installed within the inside of vehicles, vessels, and other mobile assets. G-
Trax100 can be configured at pre-determined interval or over-the-air via the GSM/GPRS
network. Any breach in security, lost of vehicle power, or speed violation, can trigger an alert
to the central command center, giving coordinates, speed, date and time-stamping the

6.0 Anti-Hijack Vehicle Security Control Unit (Vehicle Immobilizer)

For enhanced security or anti-hijack operation requirements, the following proposed vehicle
immobilizer can be interfaced with the G-Trax100 Vehicle Command Unit for security violation
control.   With all the monitoring parameters set via the backend GPS Assisted Vehicle
Monitoring Web-based Software, the Vehicle Command Unit is constantly on stand-by for the
occurrence of any emergency events eg. a panic button is being activated by the driver or a
geo-boundary violation etc. Upon activated, the signal will be transmitted from the Vehicle
Command Unit to the Vehicle Security Control Unit to immobilize the target vehicle eg. not
allowing the re-start of the vehicle.



The Anti-Hijack Vehicle Immobiliser is a dedicated device that provides your resources a
second line of defence for your vehicles and also the key resources the vehicles are carrying.
