To: Parents of Marching Band Members From: Mike Gunderson, Director of Bands Date: October 2, 2008 Re: Oakmont Competition, Saturday, October 11 Hello parents! It was nice to meet so many of you at back to school night and at our first home football game performance. We have our second home football game on Friday, October 10. The students have been working very hard to prepare for our first field show competition on Saturday, October 11. The competition will be held at Oakmont High School. The address is: 1710 Cirby Way, Roseville. I hope you will be able to support your child by attending the event. The Band Boosters provide an incredible amount of support for the marching band during this busy season. Please send in your membership if you have not done so at this time. 12:30 pm- Report time at Ponderosa; don’t forget uniform, black socks, shiny shoes, instrument, snacks, water bottle(s), $$ 12:30-2:30- Rehearse 2:30-3:30- Eat snacks, drink water, load equipment, uniforms, etc. 3:30- Depart by busses for Oakmont 4:30- arrive at Oakmont; eat dinner provided by the Band Boosters, change in to uniforms, warm up, etc. 7:15- Perform 7:30- Change out of uniforms, return to stands to watch other groups 8:30- awards presentation 9:00-9:45- Band Social/Dance 10:00- Depart for Ponderosa 11:00- arrive at Ponderosa- unload, clean up, go home Other useful information: The students should bring snacks and bottled water, as well as money to buy additional food if they want at the event. Warm clothes should be brought for the awards presentation and outdoor social/dance. “Action photos” will be taken of the group during their performance. These photos will be available for viewing and purchase near the snack bar or at: www.tebphotographer.photoreflect.com after the event.
