Project Description
Character and/or group: MILLIE‟S MODELS
Category/Genre: Espionage meets Romance/Marvel
Knights
Creative team: XXXXXXXXX
Format/Duration: Limited series or one-shot.
- MISF from creative team:
Character Description: Millie the Model was the fast- talking, hardworking Marvel
Super Model of the 50‟s. It was an innocent
time where her only worries were finding the perfect husband and getting to assignments
before her nemesis Vicki could steal the job.
High concept: What if the fate of the world rested with three
self-absorbed Super Models? What if their mentor was a
washed-up model from the fifties? We find out in as a handpicked group of MILLIE‟S
MODELS navigates the exaggerated, Zoolanderesque world of “Super Modeling” one moment,
and the shadowy landscape of espionage the next, creating a tongue-in-cheek action thriller.
Throw in some social commentary by MILLIE herself (She‟s a model out of time, like a really
shallow Captain America.) and you have a book that‟s Funny, sexy, violent, and thoughtful, in
no particular order.
Brief Synopsis: Cut to the year 2004, and the Zoolanderesque world of
modeling today. Forced eating disorders,
rampaging egos, and recreational drug use scar the landscape. Millie is an old washed up model
who‟s unwilling to give up the world where she had so much success (along the lines of the old
model on “Just Shoot Me”). Oh, and she also orchestrates the movements of a supermodel strike
team who embark on globe-hopping missions to save the world. Maybe Millie‟s a little
delusional, maybe she‟s an egomaniac, but she‟s driven and has the means and desire to make
things happen.
Using her connections in the Marvel Universe (She “dated” a lot of the power players) she sets
up MILLIE‟S MODELS, a group of models for her to manage. Little do the self absorbed
Models know, however, that Millie isn‟t just going to manage their careers, she‟s going to turn
them into heroes.
• The Brainy One: She‟s the Harvard graduate Model. She‟s always complaining that people
don‟t appreciate her brains because she‟s so beautiful. She is well-trained, optimistic, and “in
touch with her feelings.” You might catch her crying after a rough mission simply because she
allows things to affect her. She isn‟t exactly thrilled about the modeling but doesn‟t do too much
complaining, as it is part of the job. Through her we can bring a deconstructive, self-aware voice
to the T&A genre.
• The Self-Destructive One: This girl has a serious chip on her shoulder. Always angry, always
cynical, always an awkward glance away from kicking someone‟s ass. Something has happened
in her past that has made her unashamedly give up on the human race, making her the self
destructive model stereotype. If girl 1 was crying to “stay in touch with her humanity” she
would answer that she is trying to get as far away from “humanity” as possible. She likes her job
because she gets to hurt assholes.
• The Ditz: This one‟s a no-brainer, and the most like a “movie version” Charlie‟s Angel. She
likes the modeling, likes the excitement of her missions, though she seems frightfully unaware of
the danger involved in her job. She could go overboard and do massive damage all because “she
was having so much fun!”
Of course, Millie is well connected in the Marvel Universe since she had many dalliances during
her time as a world famous model. As a result she is privy to world situations that may be
helped by three hot women. Maybe foolishly, she steps in and decides she‟ll help by putting
together a team of super-agents (“just like that fabulous Nick Fury did!”) and help save the world.
MILLIE‟S MODELS would have its fun three different ways.
• Millie‟s WorldView: We have fun with a character transplanted from the pure „50s into the
tainted 21st Century. Through her voice we feel how much the Marvel Universe and world in
general has changed in the last fifty years
• The World of Modeling: We explore Modeling in all its grotesque excesses.
• Models Saving the World: You know when Miss America contestants are asked what their
goals are, and they invariably have some aspirations to create world peace. It this series we see
this ridiculous notion actually play out. There is comedy and drama in three self absorbed
models being the difference between World Peace and Nuclear Holocaust.
