Pursuant to the Court’s January 14, 2005 Scheduling Order, Plaintiffs hereby identify their expert witnesses, and anticipated subject matter of their testimony.
A.
Brian J. Alters, Ph.D.
Brian J. Alters, Ph.D., is a Professor of Education at McGill University. He is an expert in science education. Dr. Alters will testify about standards for good pedagogy in science education, why it is important to teach students about evolution, and why intelligent design should not be taught in biology classes.

Barbara Forrest. Ph.D.
Barbara Forrest, Ph.D., is a Professor of Philosophy in the Department
n of History and Political Science at Southeastern Louisiana University. She is a
expert in the emergence of intelligent design from earlier forms of creationism, intelligent design advocates’ Wedge Strategy, and the philosophical and religious commitments of intelligent design advocates. Dr. Forrest will testifL about religious challenges to the teaching of evolution, and the religious nature of intelligent design.

John F. Haupht, Ph.D.
John F. Haught, Ph.D., is a Professor of Theology at Georgetown
University. He is an expert in theology. He will testify about the religious nature of intelligent design. He will also testify that the teaching or presentation of intelligent design favors a religious viewpoint over a non-religious viewpoint and that it favors one particular religious viewpoint over other religious viewpoints.

Kenneth Miller, Ph.D.
Kenneth Miller, Ph.D., is a cell biologist, a Professor of Biology at Brown University and one of the editors of the biology textbook used by Dover High School. He is an expert in biology and biological evolution. Dr. Miller will testify about the status of the theory of evolution in the scientific community, why the statement read to Dover students is misleading and inconsistent with the

section on evolution in his textbook, why intelligent design is not sound science, and about the flaws in specific propositions asserted in support of intelligent design.

Kevin Padian, Ph.D.
Kevin Padian, Ph.D., is a paleontologist, and Professor of Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an expert in paleontology, and the origins of evolutionary adaptations. Dr. Padian will testify about how the fossil record supports the scientific theory of evolution. He will also testify about how characterizations of the fossil record by intelligent design proponents are unfounded.
F. Robert T. Pennock, Ph.D.
Robert T. Pennock, Ph.D. is a Professor of Philosophy at Michigan State University. He is an expert in philosophy and history of science. Dr. Pennock will testify about the scientific method and its relation to intelligent design. He will also testify about the religious nature of intelligent design. Respectfully submitted,
