TODAY’S PHRASE How long does it take? To learn the time needed to do something, we ask “How long does it take...” How long does it take to fly to Rome. It takes five hours and ten minutes. How long does it take to read the paper. It takes me twenty minutes. USE THE PHRASE Look at the examples below. What’s going to happen? Use these answers: late rain eat Example: There are dark clouds. It’s going to _____. It’s going to rain. 1. He missed the train. He’s going to be ______. 2. They are very hungry. They’re going to ______. USE THE PHRASE Answer the questions about yourself. Example: How long does it take to eat lunch? It takes me ten minutes. 1. How long does it take to drive home? Some people want to see you. we use ‘some’ in positive sentences we use ‘any’ with negative sentences TODAY’S PHRASE Her office is on the third floor. To talk about something on a flat surface, we say ‘on’ The office is on Main Street. She works on the third floor. It’s on the table. USE THE PHRASE Put the words in order.
