card accepted at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Visa

Corporate sponsorship - Corporate commitments such as Visa’s to the Olympic
Games, National Olympic Committees and national teams have been an important
factor in ensuring the continuance and success of the Olympic Games. In addition to
the economic support provided to the staging of the Games, Visa’s corporate
sponsorship of the Olympic Games has provided direct support to thousands of
Olympic athletes through their Olympic organizations since Visa became a
Worldwide Sponsor in 1986.
Since 2002, Visa’s has also been a proud sponsor of the Paralympic Movement as
the first global sponsor of the Paralympic Games and Worldwide Partner of the
International Paralympic Committee (IPC). Visa believes that the Games are about
the athletes, and has created a unique global program, Team Visa, to help sustain
the Olympic and Paralympic Teams and athletes as they embark on their journey to

Marketing and Promotion - Financial institutions use Visa’s Olympic Games
marketing platform to connect with their cardholders through promotional programs.
For the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Visa is working
with its financial institution clients globally to offer Visa cardholders the once-in-a-
lifetime opportunity to attend the Olympic Winter Games.
Merchants are also important Visa clients and we extend the value of our Olympic
and Paralympics Sponsorships to them as well. For the 2010 Winter Games, Visa
will be working with a number of national and international merchant partners.
Additionally, Visa has partnered with Tourism Vancouver and Tourism Whistler to
promote both domestic and international travel to the areas. For Visa, these
partnerships further demonstrate its commitment to the travel and entertainment
sector by adding key markets into its mix of destination marketing alliances. These
partnerships also provide Visa with valuable opportunities in Vancouver, the host
city, and Whistler, the Host Mountain Resort.
Financial Literacy - For over 12 years, Visa Canada's free Choices & Decisions
financial literacy program has helped more than 500,000 Canadian students better
understand the fundamentals of budgeting, saving and the wise use of credit.
Choices & Decisions is an in-class resource used by educators across the country to
help students and young adults set financial goals, develop budgets, identify how
and when to use credit and the basics of the banking system. Visa Canada's
Practical Money Skills website offers information for consumers and a companion
brochure to the Practical Money Skills website in English and French is also
available in Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Punjabi.
This year, Visa Inc. launched its newly revised financial literacy resource in Canada,
Choices & Decisions: Taking Charge of Your Financial Life. The updated resource,
which now also includes information to help students protect themselves from financial
fraud, was developed by a panel of educators to meet curriculum requirements for high
schools across the country. Teachers can order hard copies of the resource or download
copies of Choices & Decisions through www.practicalmoneyskills.ca.
Team Visa - Visa supports numerous Olympic and Paralympic Teams as well as
individual athletes through its global Team Visa program. Since 1986, Visa has
empowered thousands of Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls to achieve their dreams
by providing many with financial support, life skills training and valuable marketing
exposure in pursuit of their Olympic and Paralympic goals. In Beijing, Team Visa
Olympians and Paralympians garnered 48 individual medals - 21 Gold, 17 Silver and

Visa services at the Games - At the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa installs a
special Games ATM network and hundreds of point-of-sale acceptance devices at
competition and non-competition venues, including the Main Press Centre, the
International Broadcast Centre and the Olympic and Paralympic Villages. For the
Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Visa’s Global Consumer Assistance Centre
will be staffed with multilingual Visa personnel who can provide a variety of card
payment related services, including replacement of lost or stolen cards, Visa
Travellers Cheques or Visa Travel Money by calling 1- 800-847-2199 or 1-800-VISA-
199. Other services include information about and help with lost/stolen passports,
police and hospital services, shopping, transport, dining and tourism, and ATM
Visa cardholders are reminded to contact their issuing banks before leaving for
Canada to alert them of their travel plans and purchases in another country. This will
ensure their banks will not temporarily freeze their accounts as an anti-fraud
measure. Cardholders should also ask about daily withdrawal limits, ATM fees and
emergency phone numbers.
Olympians Reunion Centre Visa co-founded and supports the Olympians Reunion
Center at the Olympic Games, where Olympians from past Games can relax,
congregate, and enjoy ongoing hospitality while attending the current Games.
The Paralympic Hall of Fame, jointly created with the International Paralympic
Committee (IPC) and presented by Visa, was established in 2006 to celebrate the
achievements and spirit of Paralympic athletes and their coaches for the betterment
of people with a disability as a whole.
