PRINTING E.C.N. REPORTS
Browse the database to that ECN# you intent to create a report.
Click-on the REPORT command button (ECN main form toolbar).
A Report filter/selector form appears on the screen. The ECN report
content can be selected by setting to true those areas of interest.
Depending on the size of the information stored for a given ECN#
there will be two or more report pages.

Its always a good idea to
check the Printers button and
to verify that the desired
printer was set as default
printer in Print Manager.
Click-on the Preview button to
start the printing process.
In this sample the default printer is marked with a “V”. The user can change the default printer but this not means
that he cannot print the report to another printer as long as the printer really exists.
After pressing the Preview button the actual report will be shown on the screen. The user is invited to select the
printer where the report should be sent.
In this sample the user decides to use the default printer and clicks-on the OK command button. At this stage you
can review printer related settings. However, the application is delivered with the correct settings for paper type
The report is printed by the selected printer and a preview copy remains available on the screen. Please note that
using the right-click on the previewed the user can select to view multiple or single pages, to do a page setup, to
print, to send to, to export… The recommended method is to let the application handle all these settings and
options. A series of timed messages will instruct the user what to do in case of report printing failure.
PRINTING TO ADOBE PDF VERSION 6.0 PROFESSIONAL
The application can take print the report as a PDF file in
various modes. One option depends on the existence of
the Acrobat PDF Writer version 4.0. If this driver is not
installed in your system it will be shown in the Report filter/
selector form at the bottom.
In a system with Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Professional and
Adobe Distiller 6.0 installed the user can right-click on the
previewed report and to select Print. Then he must select
Adobe PDF as printer and to click-on the OK button. The
report will be automatically saved as a PDF file.
PRINTING TO APPLICATION’s INSTALLED PS2PDF DRIVER
Make sure that Make PS2PDF
check-box is set to true.
Click-on the Preview button and
select the PS2PDF printer.
The application will instruct the
user what to do if the driver is not

The ECN report can be emailed as PDF file. If you have installed
ACROBAT PDFWriter 4.0/5.0 you can select it as PDF maker.
Everyone can use as PDF maker the ECN built-in PS2PDF printer
(PostScript to PDF). Use this PS2PDF printer to create PS files from
any other application (WORD, EXCEL,....). Such a PS file can be
converted to PDF using a shortcut to an executable installed in this new
version of ECN. Use the PS2PDFLPT shortcut to install the PS2PDF
printer. The application will attempt to install automatically this printer
first time you print a report to PS2PDF printer checked in Type of
If the application’s attempt to solve the PS2PDF conversion fails the
user is instructed via messages on what might be incorrect configured.
If such a problem occurs the user can click-on the Open PS command
button to find he expected PS file and then to click-on the next button to
execute the conversion to PDF.
Always make sure that the PS2PDF printer was successfully installed.

Another way to install the PS2PDF
printer is to click-on the
PS2PDFLPT from ECN menu.
Click-on Install All button and
monitor the messages.

PS2PDF as printer the user can create

Open the PS2PDF utility, Click-on
Open PS button to find the file and
then click-on the Start command.
The error message below might appear on those systems having installed Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 when the
user attempts to install the PS2PDF driver. In such a scenario the solution is to right-click on the report preview and
to print to Adobe PDF printer.
