Office of Management Research and Development Florida Traffic Crash Records Database All Information 2002 to Present Page 1 of 56 (Revision 10/06) The Florida Traffic Crash Records Database is a relational database consisting of nine tables. Each table contains data relevant to a certain facet of a traffic crash. Files may be joined as needed to extract information. File Name Events Description Contains information about the crash event (i.e. date, time, harmful events, etc.). This is the "parent file" of the database. Contains information about each driver involved in the crash demographic and causal). Contains information about each passenger involved in the crash (demographic and causal). Contains information about each pedestrian involved in the crash (demographic and causal). Contains information about property (other than vehicles) damaged in the crash Contains information about each vehicle involved in the crash. Contains information about citations issued to drivers or pedestrians involved in crashes (limited to the first eight citations issues per party). The newest table, contains information about commercial vehicles and carriers involved in crashes. Contains Department of Transportation location and road data. Drivers Passengers Pedestrians Property Vehicles Violations ComVeh DOT This codebook has been constructed with the intention of providing a "users manual" for persons using or requesting crash data from the Office of Management Research and Development (OMRD). The OMRD maintains and houses the Florida Traffic Crash Records Database. Data is available from 1986 forward. There are two earlier database layouts (1986-1992 and 1993-2001). This codebook describes the layout of data from 2002 forward and contains a large array of data not previously available for analysis.
