Overview
At the heart of the PolarLake™ Database Integrator is an enterprise-grade software server that is deployed ‘in front of’ the database server. This server hosts and manages the XML Circuits™, which determine the way incoming XML documents are integrated with the database. In addition, the PolarLake Database Integrator automates: • The mapping of XML data to the existing native data types, invocation of stored procedures, and generation of XMLbased changes in the database • Any processing of the XML documents required prior to the actual mapping, including validation, filtering and transformation Significantly, it achieves all of this without changes or disruption to the deployed database, and without
• Integration with a variety of transport protocols, such as HTTP(S), SMTP, file system (ftp and log file), all JMS-based message ® systems (WebSphere , TIBCO ActiveEnterprise™) • Integration with enterprise system management platforms, such as HP Openview ® and BMC Software PATROL

Powerful graphical mapping and transformation tools The mapping tools in the PolarLake Database Integrator are built on the powerful PolarLake Mapper engine. This high performance engine supports both simple mapping and functional transformations, and includes out-of-the-box functions to handle common problems such as date format conversions. Database specific features, configured supplied graphical tools, include: through
Rich XML processing capabilities Semantic level validation, allowing incoming messages to be validated against agreed business process definitions and appropriate error handling and job control activities carried out. Exception handling, allowing exceptions and associated exception handling procedures to be defined in the XML Circuit. Handling procedures are integrated within the XML Circuit and can leverage all the capabilities of the product to intelligently deal with exceptional circumstances. Integration of Java™-based business logic components, hosted in PolarLake or in a J2EE application server.
