The remainder of the site is peppered with caves, simulated towns, firing ranges, military operations in urban terrain sites where Soldiers can learn how to secure buildings, and even an improvised explosive device lane, so Soldiers can learn to spot and neutralize IEDs. The system consists of several pieces of portable equipment, including the "Global Hawk" containers which house the computers that run the system; several hard shelters called Herdside Expandable Light Air-Mobile Shelters, that house workstations for analysts; and several remote base stations that can be placed around a training range to act as signal repeaters, feeding information back into EIS.
