Merck announced plans to disclose some grants made by its global human health division for independent educational initiatives in the US, including those for accredited CME. The move came hours after Lilly announced plans to post a registry of payments to physicians. Lilly will have to go farther than it had planned in disclosing payments to physicians as a result of its $62 million settlement with 32 states and the District of Columbia last month over alleged off-label promotion of Zyprexa.
