Of 236 college graduates surveyed, 38% said that one of the key motivators when considering employment was appreciation of work-life balance, according to a recent report by Right Management. Other top motivators for grads included opportunities for development, financial stability, and establishing and maintaining a good rapport with managers. Only 21% of respondents rated compensation as a key motivator. Another interesting finding was that 61% of college graduates plan to stay at their first job three years or less. For any company hoping to attract and retain fresh talent, the bottom line is cultivating an organizational culture that appeals to new graduates by engaging and investing in their employees.
