Supplements that would help with hot flashes or other menopausal symptoms are discussed. Some of these supplements like SoyBalance isoflavones says that it provides a more comfortable transition through menopause but failed to reduce hot flashes in five of the six studies that gave women isoflavones with less than 15 mg of genistein every day. In the studies in which isoflavones did help, taking more than 60 mg a day was no more effective than taking 30 to 60 mg a day.
