Battle of the Bands Contest
When: Thursday, July 22nd
Where: Lakefront Park Band Shell
Time: 7PM
Fee: $30 per Band
Pre-Registration is required.
Details: Amateur bands only with the majority of members being high school or
college age. The winner competes at the Dakota County Fair’s Grand Battle and
also play at the Minnesota State fair.

Kick off the summer with Summer Supremo – June 14-17 from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm at
Lakefront Park for 6 year olds and older. The $67/$72 fee includes many different games
in large and small groups, cool crafts and swimming at the beach. Bring a bag lunch,
beverage and a towel each day.
Tot Lot is for 3-5 year olds from June 21-July 29 – meet 2 days a week on M/W or T/TH
from 9:30-11:30 AM for games, arts and crafts, music and plenty of Fun. We are
offering this program at 10 different park locations. The $78/$83 fee includes a
Recreation t-shirt, water bottle, leaders, art and craft supplies, a daily snack and a journey
to multiple destinations around the world each week.
Playground Program is for 6-11 year olds from June 21-July 29 from 12:30-3:30 PM
and is designed to provide a wide variety of supervised recreation activities. New 2 day
per week program M/W or T/TH at 10 different park locations. The $87/$93 fee includes
a recreation t-shirt, water bottle, leaders, art and craft supplies and a different theme each
Sport Camps include a multi-sport camp or Lacrosse Introductory camp for boys and
girls 6-12 years old. Mini sport camp for 4-6 year olds

TOT CLASSES, PROGRAMS & CAMPS ( 2 and older w/parent or grandparent)
New – Tot Garden Spot
If you are interested in participating in our Tot garden program this summer please
contact Lori at 952-447-9823. This program is for tots (2-5 yr olds) and their parents
and/or grandparents. You will share a 10x20 plot with other families and help take care
of it for the summer. The recreation department will provide some vegetable seeds for
you to plant and stakes you can decorate and use in the garden. The cost is $5. The
garden plot is located on the Kop Farm property at Lakefront Park.

Kids in the Kitchen – fun, easy recipes to do together. Join us at City Hall to create
some good food and decorate your own apron to take home.

Time: 10 – 11 AM

Pre-Season hours at the skate park are Saturdays and Sundays only from May 1 through
June 6 from Noon-7PM. Admission is FREE but participants under 18 are not admitted
without a parent-signed waiver and safety equipment.

What: Teen Hang Out for 12-15 Year olds
Where: Club Prior (Next to the Prior Lake Library)
When: May 21 & June 4
Time: 2:30-5:30 PM
Cost: FREE (registration required)
Drop in to Club Prior with your friends and enjoy pool, TV, Wii, dance revolution and
movies too! Bring your own snack or money to get a snack at Maui Wowi.
Transportation from Twin Oaks available. Co-sponsored by Community Education and
the City of Prior Lake Recreation Department. Registration is required. Register at or call 952-447-9820.
Reserve a Little Piece of Spring With a Garden Plot
Prior Lake hosts a community garden on the Kop Farm property at Lakefront
Park in Prior Lake. The plot rental fee is $35 for residents ($50 non residents) for
a 10x20 plot. Gardeners must also pay a $20 deposit that is refunded at the end
of the season when plot signs are returned and plots cleared. For more

Club Prior
Club Prior is the adult activity center in the Prior Lake Resource Center, 16210 Eagle
Creek Avenue SE, Suite 101 for adults 55 + Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:00 am
to 3:00 pm. Come in and enjoy a free cup of coffee, play cards or games, take a class, or
just enjoy the company of others.

•   Come and observe the following classes - no registration required for the first day
    and the first class is always FREE. Tai Chi on Tuesdays at 12:10 and 1:10 and PACE
    (People with Arthritis Can Exercise) on Thursdays at 9:10 AM
•   Health Insurance Counseling is offered at Club Prior the second Wednesday of each
    month. This service offers health insurance counseling services to Medicare
    beneficiaries of all ages and their caregivers in the metro area. Counseling is
    provided by state-certified health insurance counseling staff or volunteers and is
    available at no fee. Call Debbie at 952-447-9783 for an appointment.
•   Learn how to recycle greeting cards by making greeting cards and gift bags at Club
    Prior. Stop in any time between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm on Tuesdays to join in the fun.
    Donations of old greeting cards accepted at Club Prior.
•   Go green and save some money! Club Prior sells greeting cards and gift bags for
    75 cents each. The cards & bags are made by our recycled card group; proceeds
    go to the Club Prior snack fund. The inventory is always changing. Stop by
    during regular club hours, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 – 3.

Tennis for Adults
Men and women are invited to learn all the aspects of tennis in a short amount of time for
beginners or intermediate levels.
Session I – Tuesdays June 9-29
Session II – Tuesdays July 6-27

Minnehaha Falls Trip
See the 53 foot waterfall, limestone bluffs, sculptures and river overlooks at Minnehaha
Falls. There is a short walk from the bus to the park entrance.
When: Tuesday, June 22
Time: Bus leaves from Club Prior at 10:30 AM and returns at approx 2:30 PM
Fee: $8/Resident and $13 non-resident. Bring money for lunch at the Seasalt Eatery or
bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic lunch.
