					                     Healthy Recipes
Whole Wheat Pancakes
1 C. skim milk
1 C. whole wheat – mix in blender for two minutes
½ C. skim milk – add and blend – two minutes
2 eggs
1/3 C. applesauce
1/4 C. white flour
1 banana
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 Tbsp. baking powder

Blend well – can be used for pancakes or waffles

Oat Muffins
1 ½ C. Oat bran
1 C. Flour
1 C. flax seeds ground
1 C. wheat bran
1 T. baking powder
½ t. salt
11/2 C. raisins
2 oranges – peeled and blended
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. buttermilk
2 eggs
½ C. canola oil
1 t. baking soda

Mix dry ingredients
Blend oranges, brown sugar, buttermilk, oil, eggs & baking
soda
Pour into dry ingredients
Mix well, add raisins
Bake 375 – 18-20 minutes

Whole Wheat Bread
1 ½ cup applesauce
2 Tbsp. salt
6 C. warm water
Mix together and then sprinkle with 2 Tbsp. yeast
Add 10 cups finely ground wheat flour
Mix
Add 1-3 cups white flour or until dough pulls away from the
edges of pan, will still be a little sticky. Mix for five
minutes
Shape into loaves, let raise.
Bake 350 for 30 – 40 minutes (I’m not certain on the time.
I just watch mine and pull them out when they’re brown.)

Chili
Brown one-pound lean hamburger or ground turkey
1 can chili beans
1 can kidney beans
1 cup salsa
1 chopped green pepper
1 chopped onion
Package of chili seasoning
1 tsp. garlic
Mix together and simmer for at least ten minutes.

Spaghetti Sauce
Brown one-pound lean hamburger or turkey
½ onion, diced
1 t. Italian spices
1 t. celery salt
½ t. pepper
1 t. minced garlic
4 tomatoes – diced
½ g. pepper – diced
1 zucchini – diced

Simmer and serve over noodles (whole wheat are better, but
I haven’t convinced my kids to eat them yet!)

Chicken Noodle Soup

Cook and cube or shred one pound chicken, set aside
Boil eight cups of water, add:
2 packages chicken gravy mix
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 chopped onion
1 ½ c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
Boil for five minutes, then add two cups noodles, boil for
five more minutes, add:
1 c. peas
Chicken

Pasta Primevera

Cook and cube or shred one pound chicken, set aside.
Sautee together –
3 chopped tomatoes
2 chopped zucchini
1 chopped onion
1 chopped green pepper
When tender add ½ c. peas and chicken, sprinkle with
parmesan cheese and eat alone or over noodles.

Taco Soup

Brown one pound hamburger with one chopped onion
Add:
1 can tomato sauce
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 cans kidney beans
1 can corn
1 package taco seasoning

Hawaiian Haystacks

Cook and chop one-pound chicken, mix with one can fat-free
cream of chicken soup and ½ cup of milk.
Chop as much as you like of the following and serve over
chicken mixture and rice.
Celery
Green Pepper
Tomato
Pineapple
Broccoli
Carrots
Green Onion
Water Chestnuts
Cheddar Cheese
Coconut

You can serve anything you like on it. My kids love
