We will be having our annual 5th grade celebration on Sunday August 20th @ 10:00 a.m. to
 honor those who have completed 5th grade this year and will be moving on to the youth
 group. This will be a gathering of 5th graders, their moms & dads and grandparents and

   Another highlight was Melinda's puppet show with an actual
Richard puppet (“looks just like the Rev. Hendry” the kids said…)
with his arm around Jesus. The puppet's actions and gestures to
very appropriate music produced gales of laughter. Melinda's kids
did a fantastic job!
   So, forty years have passed since being appointed to my first
parish (called 'Circuit' back then) in February, 1965. I preached at

spent four years in the far north of New Zealand in a
Maori/European Circuit, preaching at four different churches
each week with an additional church on the last Sunday of the
month.
   Then followed three years in a difficult timber town with a
Samoan/European congregation and (finally) just one church.
   My last appointment in New Zealand was in a city 60 miles
north of the Capital, Wellington, called Levin. While there, I
completed a year's ministerial exchange with a pastor from Goode
Centennial UMC in Commerce City (1979/80).
