Department – Summer Analyst: Investment Banking – San Francisco Healthcare Group


Our San Francisco Healthcare Group focuses on the life sciences sector including biotechnology, life science tools and research,
and medical device companies. Analysts in this group focus on account coverage and transaction execution including mergers
and acquisitions, equity financings, and debt financings. The ten-week Summer Analyst Program in Credit Suisse’s San
Francisco Health Care Group gives rising college seniors outstanding exposure to the exciting world of financial services.

Whether you are working alongside a Full-Time Analyst or staffed as the only Analyst on a deal team, our summer program
gives you the tools you’ll need to jump start your career in finance and investment banking. Our goal is that by the end of the
Summer Analyst Program you will be working as the only analyst on your deals. Responsibilities are diverse and may include
analyzing companies using financial modeling and valuation techniques, examining the impact of a transaction on a client’s
capital structure and analyzing the consequences of a merger or acquisition.

As a summer program participant, you will have the opportunity to work on live deals, gaining hands-on experience and learning
about all aspects of advising and transacting business for our clients. In that respect, our San Francisco office is a perfect place
for you to start. As one of the largest investment banking presences outside of New York, we offer you a strong deal flow which
is essential for maximizing your summer experience. In addition, we are committed to a “Generalist” approach giving you the
unique opportunity to get a flavor of various investment banking products such as high yield financing, IPOs and M&A
transactions across a wide range of industries. Summer Analysts are formally reviewed at the mid and end points of the summer
to provide helpful feedback, and offers are made on the last day of the program, enabling you to return to school with a full-time
position secured.


You will attend a brief Company orientation and up to 3 days of training before you start your work for the summer, receiving
further training while on the job.

Your learning experience will continue through the summer speaker series, where you’ll hear from senior employees across the
divisions. In addition, you’ll participate in networking events, a community service project, and firm-wide events that will help
ensure that you are exposed to all the areas within the bank and understand the big picture of a global investment bank. You’ll
also enjoy interacting with the other Summer Analysts and full time employees at a variety of social events throughout the

Banking, who provide advice and guidance throughout the summer.


Interested candidates must be between their junior and senior years at a four-year college or university. Credit Suisse is noted

who have demonstrated academic achievement, specifically in finance and accounting and have the ability to work
independently and as a member of a team. Strength in verbal and written communication, and computer literacy is essential to
all that we do. We look for intelligent, driven and hardworking candidates with consistent leadership involvement in school
activities and athletics, and interest in the financial sector. The San Francisco Healthcare Group in particular seeks candidates
