       It is time to dust off your shorts and t-shirts and head on out the door for exciting family
programming. The Richland Township Recreation Department is proud to offer spring and
summer seasons that are filled with fabulous programs. To register for any of the following
programs, simply fill out the registration form and return it with payment to the Richland Township
Municipal building. Space is limited for each program, so be sure to register early! There is a
registration deadline for each program. Program registration will remain open after the deadline
to register if the maximum number of participants has not been met. Please be sure to call after
the deadline date to inquire if room is still available. Enjoy the spring and summer months and

Maritime Wonders and Newfoundland- July 10-July 20, 2006 -$2199, and includes 16 meals. Enjoy an
incredible coastal experience that combines the maritime beauty of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. The
tour begins in Nova Scotia’s capital city of Halifax and the very picturesque Peggy’s Cove. Then you will
go to Cape Breton Island and the harbor town of Sydney. From there you will travel along the famous
Cabot Trail. Next, you will go to Newfoundland to visit Corner Brook, Gros Morne National Park, the
famous Tablelands, and the village of Woody Point. Then you will travel to the Exploits Valley. Once in
Gander, you will travel to Twillingate, visit Logpoint Lighthouse to view Iceberg Alley. Then travel
through Terra Nova National Park en route to Brigus, and then on to St. John’s. Before you end the tour in
St. John’s, you will enjoy a tour of Signal Hill, Cabot Tower, and Cape Spear. For more information,

                      Allegheny Mountains Amtrack Adventure- July 12, 2006 -$89.00 per person.
                      Depart by motorcoach to Greensburh where we board Amtrak’s “Pennsylvanian” for
                      an exciting and scenic train ride to Altoona. Journey into the heart of the Alleghenies
                      and around Horseshoe Curve. You will enjoy visiting the lovely Basilica of St.
                      Michael the Archangel, Saint Francis University, Mount Assisi Sunken Gardens of
                      the Bethlehem Steel estate, and the Johnstown Flood Museum. Register no later than

McConnell’s Mills State Park, Rappelling Basics- July 29, 2006-$35.00 per person. Transportation not
included.
Want to get your feet wet in the vertical word? Rappelling is an excellent way to start. Simply stated,
rappelling is the art of sliding down a rope from the top of a cliff to the bottom, at a rate of speed you
control. Interested? Try this class which focuses on securing or anchoring your rope, safety techniques and
equipment care. All technical equipment will be supplied by Mountain Dreams. Due to insurance

Canadian Rockies and Glacier National Park– July /August 2006- $1999 for 8 days and 11 meals. Your
tour will begin in the Canadian province of Alberta. This tour combines the best of prairies, the majesty of
the Canadian Rockies, and the beauty of Glacier National Park. In Alberta, you will travel south to Head-
Smashed-In Buffalo Jump and then south into Montana to enjoy a scenic drive known for viewing many
interesting animals before you arrive in Kalispell to explore Glacier National Park. Next, you will move to
Banff in order to view the Canadian Rockies. Then you will continue on to Jasper via the Icefields
Parkway. Finally, you will motor out of the Canadian Rockies into the prairies of Alberta and back to
