Submitting an Electronic SAE Technical Paper

1/29/2008 8 SUBMITTING AN ELECTRONIC SAE TECHNICAL PAPER What to Submit • Electronic files: • One well-proofed MS Word file. (If you do not have MS Word, please send your file saved as an *.rtf or *.txt file and designate the program used.) • One well-proofed PDF file (SAE will print your paper from the PDF). Give the PDF the same filename (*.pdf) as your MS Word submission. • Signed Copyright Assignment Form. SAE can not publish a paper without a hand-signed or digital signature on the Assignor line and the Authorized Representative/Author line. • One well-proofed printed original (serves as a proof copy for comparison to the electronic version). • If you would like your paper printed in color, please submit a completed Color Agreement Form. An additional fee is required for color printing, which includes pre-press preparation and 4-color printing. Electronic or Postal/FEDEX/DHL Submission (Please choose one of the following methods (􀂐) to submit your paper to SAE) 􀂐 Internet FTP Site • On your computer, click Start and then select My Computer You will now see a “My Computer” window In the address line type: ftp://papers:papers@ftp.sae.org/incoming/meetings Press Enter to display the FTP folder 1/29/2008 9 Open the appropriate meeting folder Place your file into this window by Copying and pasting or dragging. Your file is now sent to SAE for publishing. For security reasons, you will not see the document placed in the incoming directory. You will receive confirmation when we receive your file(s). If you still have issues accessing the FTP site, please call 724-772-8588 for assistance. 􀂐 Email Email to techpaper@sae.org.
