The Silent Auction will begin at 5:30 PM on Friday, October 24, 2008 at Interlaken Inn and Conference Center and will continue until 7:15 PM. Please check in at the door. Your bid number is printed on the back of the auction catalogue in your Parents’ Weekend folder. You must bring your catalogue with you to the auction. 2. All items will have a bid sheet. Persons desiring to bid must do so by writing their bid number and the amount they wish to bid on the bid sheet for that item. Items have a minimum opening bid which is printed as “Opening Bid” in the catalogue as well as the bid increase increments on the bid sheet. 3. Please note that all opening bid prices are approximately 50% of the value of the item. 4. No bid may be crossed out! 5. The Silent Auction will close all sections at 7:15 PM WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FACULTY/STAFF ITEMS WHICH WILL CLOSE FIRST AT 7:00 PM. 6. In the event of a dispute, the Auction official, Lori Hale, shall act as the final authority to determine the winning bidder and amount. Also, there will be no duplication of items without her approval. 7. Those attending the silent auction only may check out at approximately 7:45PM or after all the items have been processed. All others will check-out at the close of the Live Auction. NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO CHECK-OUT BEFORE THE END OF THE LIVE AUCTION. If you have to leave early, see Mrs. Hale to make alternate arrangements. 8. All items must be paid for in full or we must have your credit card information before removing them from the Auction. We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards. There will be signs posted to clearly delineate cash or credit lines. Once you have paid for your item, bring the receipt to one of the auction committee members and they will retrieve your item for you. 9. All items must be picked up and removed after you have won them. Gift certificates may be collected at the registration table. In the event that some items are not removed, they will be transported back to school and will be available for pick-up in the main administration building (Howes Hall) on Saturday. Live Auction Rules: 1. The Live Auction will begin as dessert is being served and will continue until all items are auctioned off. It is very important to keep the noise level down so that the audience/auctioneer can hear what is going on. 2. The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be deemed the purchaser. In the event of a dispute, the Auction official, Lori Hale, shall act as the final authority to determine the winning bidder and amount. 3.
