Goes Green
The Grand management and staff are working to turn the resort
Green ---environmentally green, that is.

They are leading an effort to eliminate unnecessary packaging,
recycle whenever possible and find alternative uses for items
previously headed for a landfill.

The “Grand Goes Green” program, while still in its formative
stage, is already beginning to show many positive results.

Among them are:
The recycling program so far has sent 2,408 pounds of televi-
sions, electronics and monitors to authorized recovery centers.

Also recycled, in a six-month period, were 14,319 wine and
liquor bottles, which, in the past, were discarded in dumpsters for

Overlooking a 700-foot white sand beach at the foot
of the 22-acre Sweetwater Lake, this facility greeted
its first guests this summer, and immediately became
the heart of the Colony at the Grand development.

The custom-designed aquatics complex features four
different free-form pool areas positioned around a
spectacular signature fountain. Guests and visitors
enjoy waterfalls, hot tub, lap pool, slow-current lazy
river and luxurious water wading shelf. Meanwhile
the kids frolic on the waterslide, “spray-ground” and
water cannons.

A lodge-style wood burning fireplace graces the
entrance to the Lakewood Club at the Colony, and
features a lobby furnished with over-stuffed leather
