					JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:             Digital Video Intern

Responsible to:        Digital Media Officer and the Head of Broadcast and
                       New Media

Salary:                Voluntary position - Unpaid Internship with support
                       towards expenses

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assist the Roundhouse Marketing team and the Broadcast and New Media team
prepare and edit video content for repurposing. Daily tasks will include digitising DV
tapes, logging digitised content and general video editing tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 To support the Roundhouse Marketing Department and the Broadcast and New
   Media Department with the digitising and editing of video material

   Repurpose and prepare video material for delivery online

   To prepare video for DVDs and author DVDs where appropriate

   To assist with the archiving of video content

   Source video and audio material for repurposing.

   Maintain database records of archived content and input data as appropriate

   Perform other administrative tasks of a similar nature, as reasonably requested by
    members of the Roundhouse Marketing and the Broadcast and New Media team.

The Intern will also
       Promote and comply with current legislation and the Roundhouse’s policies on
        equal opportunities and health and safety both in the delivery of services and the
        treatment of others.
       Undertake any other reasonable duties, commensurate with the level of the post
        so as to ensure the smooth running of the Roundhouse.

REVIEW ARRANGEMENTS
This job information cannot be all encompassing. It is inevitable over time that the

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential

       Ability to work calmly under pressure and to high standards
        Ability to plan and prioritise workload
        Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at
         various levels
        Excellent organisation and administrative skills
        IT literate – Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
        Attention to detail
        Self motivated and proactive approach
        Interest and knowledge of the broadcast or media sector
        Experience of working in an office environment
        Awareness of digital media and associated technologies

Desirable:
    Knowledge of a video editing application e.g. Final Cut Pro or Avid


Conditions
Internship          Minimum of 3 months, preferably 6 months

Hours               10.00am – 5.00pm with an hour lunch break (minimum 2 days per week).
                    This position will entail on occasion, working unsocial hours.

A contribution towards reasonable expenses for travel and lunch will be paid as
authorised by the line manager.
