									                                Communications and Marketing Director
The Organization:

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles builds and renovates homes in partnership with God and people everywhere
with a goal of eliminating substandard housing by making decent, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action in
our community.

Summary of Position:

The Communications and Marketing Director is responsible for the creation and implementation of a strategic
communications and marketing plan that advances the mission of Habitat. This will include, but is not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:

    •   Manage print, radio, TV, corporate, and community media projects
    •   Collaborate with PR firms, volunteers, and consultants
    •   Develop, package, and maintain consistent organizational messaging and marketing materials
    •   Edit and approve press releases
    •   Write copy for and oversee development of marketing materials, donor communications, newsletter, and
        electronic communications
    •   Write talking points for CEO
    •   Build and protect organization’s brand
    •   Implement innovative methods to increase organization’s visibility
    •   Collaborate with key entertainment industry contacts to increase organization’s visibility
    •   Track and evaluates affiliate messaging, advertising, and media effectiveness
    •   Manages website content
    •   Manage internal communications
    •   Oversees premier corporate marketing package program
    •   Negotiate and secure print, TV, and radio advertising
    •   Develop and oversee communications & marketing committee
    •   Manage and coach staff responsible for special events, graphic design, and direct marketing

Requirements:

    •   BA/BS degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations
    •   5-7 years professional experience in communications
    •   Minimum of 3 to 5 years of management experience
    •   Strong creative skills
    •   Familiarity with Los Angeles area media market
    •   Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and quickly
    •   High degree of flexibility
    •   Efficient project manager
    •   Strong background in writing
    •   Extensive editing experience
    •   Strong background in customer service
    •   Familiarity with electronic communications as donor communication strategy
