INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
ROB a blonde haired man in his early 20’s is standing over
a FISH TANK placing FISH FOOD into the tank.
ROB
There you guys go eat up.
AUDREY (O.S.)
What the hell is that?
Rob turns to see AUDREY, his wife, also in her early 20’s
still dressed in her work clothes a white button up shirt
and black khaki pants.
Rob places the fish food down between the fish tank and a
dead POTTED PLANT.
ROB
It’s an aquarium with fish.
AUDREY
I see that, but why is it here.
ROB
I’ve decided to move onto fish.
Rob picks up a GARBAGE BAG and begins to prepare to pick up
the PACKAGING from his fish tank, that’s sitting on the
floor.
AUDREY
Rob you don’t know anything about
fish tanks, or how to take care of a
fish. Remember your attempt at
gardening,
Audrey glares at the dead planet that is sitting next to
the fish tank.
AUDREY (CONT.)
You couldn’t even keep a few plants
alive.
Walking over to a pile of CARDBOARD BOX’S from the newly
purchased aquarium Rob begins to smash them down to fit
into the garbage bag.
Pg 2
ROB
First of all it’s an aquarium not a
fish tank and I know a lot about
fish, I’ve been researching them for
the last week.
AUDREY
Really? Could you even keep them
alive for 24 hours?
Rob finishes picking up the packaging from the new fish
tank and ties the bag close.
ROB
Yes a matter of fact I can. And for
the record fish and plants are
completely different things.
INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY
ROB enters the living room to find each of the fish dead
floating on the top of the tank.
ROB
What the… What happened to them?
Rob walks over to a COUCH sitting in the living room and
sits down placing his hands over his face.
AUDREY enters the room also noticing the dead fish.
AUDREY
I told you you would kill them. This
is the garden all over again. I guess
this means I’m right.
ROB
No, not yet your not. I can return
these fish and get more I’ll keep
those one’s alive. I know exactly
where I went wrong.
INT. PET STORE – DAY
Pg 3
ROB stands talking to a STORE CLERK holding a BAG filled
with replacement fish.
ROB
Where did I go wrong?
STORE CLERK
Well, it could have been several
things. But firstly did you treat
your water with a Dechlorinator?
ROB
No, should I have?
STORE CLERK
Yeah, chlorine is poisonous to fish.
The Store Clerk turns and looks for a specific item on the
DISPLAY RACK. Finding the BOTTLE he was looking for he
turns back to Rob.
STORE CLERK (CONT.)
Here this should do it. Just follow
the directions on the back of this
and it should take care of it.
ROB
Great, thanks.
INT. LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
ROB holding the Dechlorinator reads the instructions off
the back of the bottle.
ROB
For each 10 U.S. gallons use 1 ml.
Unscrewing the cap of the bottle Rob measures out 1 ml but
accidentally over fills the measuring cap spilling some
into the BUCKET of tap water sitting on the floor.
ROB (CONT.)
Crap, O well. A little extra cant
hurt anything.
Pg 4
Rob puts the measured amount into the bucket and picks it
up filling the half filled fish tank all the way up.
INT. LIVING ROOM – DAY
ROB walks into the living room once again finding the fish
floating lifelessly on the top of the tank
ROB
Not again.
Rob picks up a small NET and begins to fish out the dead
body’s putting them into a bag. When finished he puts the
net down hardly on the table making a loud SLAMMING noise.
ROB (CONT.)
Why does every living thing I try to
care for die!

AUDREY
Let me guess there dead.
ROB
No, there still alive. And its been
24 hours.
Rob begins to dance around in glory.
ROB (CONT.)
I did it! I did it! Something I cared
for is still alive. I haven’t killed
them.
Pg 6
Rob continues to dance around throwing his arms
around.
Suddenly one of Robs arms hits the aquarium
knocking it to the ground breaking the glass
sending water every where.
AUDREY
This is just like the garden…
