88.4206/3 Directed Study: “Student” (F 2007) 1
                                          A range = upper 80’s & 90’s
                                          B range = 70’s & 80’s
                                          C range = 60’s
                                          D range = 50’s
                                          F = less than 50

Note: Students are expected to carefully analyze course requirements and project due
dates and plan/work/study accordingly. Time and project management skills
are considered important in this field and overdue assignments will be
penalized 1⁄7 of their overall grade value on the assignment for each day late.

The Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health acknowledges the importance of
timely evaluation and feedback. Students will be expected to be available for all tests
and exams that are scheduled within the normal class or exam periods. Should a
student be unavailable to write a test, exam, or submit a paper due to circumstances
other than illness (verified by a physician’s note) or death in the family (verified by
obituary or other suitable documentation) the student will receive zero for that exam,
test, or item of work.
The Department has a policy of maintaining a class grade point range, depending
upon the year of the course. This ensures that grades are awarded consistent with
other departments. Students may make an appointment to discuss their relative
standing at any time during the course.

Note: Final date for withdrawal from the course without academic penalty is Friday,
November 3, 2006. Please refer to the University Calendar for information
regarding Appeals, Course Grading and Academic Misconduct.

Written Papers

Note: All written reports and papers must follow American Psychological
Association (APA) style. They should be typed using a serif font (Times New
Roman) double-spaced on one side of 8½ x 11 in. 20lb. white bond paper.
They should be constructed in IMRAD (Introduction, Method, Results And
Discussion) format and be concise. (Add specifics for each item if work eg.
      <xxxx words).
