A vegetarian diet is also likely to have higher fiber levels, which can decrease the risk of obesity, as well as lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and the risk of diabetes. Regular fruit and vegetable consumption has even been linked to a marked reduction in the risk of a fetal heart attack, stroke, and heart failure.
