Who should attend?    A newcomer to the administrative assistant or secretary position who needs to come up to speed quickly and effectively. Someone who would like to be promoted to a secretary or administrative assistant role and needs the skills to qualify for the position. A veteran secretary or administrative assistant who wishes to take the CPS (Parts 1 through 3) or the CAP (Parts 1 through 4) certification exams and needs to prepare for the exams. The administrative profession continues to expand in nature and complexity, making professional development a necessity. More than ever before, administrative professionals are assuming a broader and more influential role within most organizations today. With ever-changing demands on executives today, administrative assistant professionals require a strong foundation of knowledge to manage their responsibilities effectively. Program Fee: The fee for each seminar is $299. Part 1 is one seminar, part 2 is another seminar, etc. (IAAP membership is not required) Fee includes valuable IAAP textbook, Roane State seminar workbook, on-the-job application activities and professional instruction. NOTE: For-profit organizations may receive reimbursement of fees paid on behalf of employees for participating in this program. You may register for more than one class at a time; in this case, only one phone call is necessary. In order for Roane State to bill your company for the tuition of its employees, a Letter of Authorization to Bill must be sent prior to each course date. This letter must be on your company’s letterhead and state that Roane State has permission to bill your company for the tuition of the employees that attend these courses. This letter can be faxed to 483-2750 or mailed to: Roane State Community College Professional Development & Computer Training 105 Broadway Avenue Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37830 Note: Certified Professional Secretary®, CPS®, Certified Administrative Professional®, and CAP® are registered trademarks of the International Association of Administrative Professionals® (IAAP)®. These courses are not endorsed by IAAP. Completing these courses does not enable you to be classified as a CPS or CAP recipient. You must take the official exams, administered by IAAP. To receive the CPS certification, you must take and pass Parts 1-3. To apply for the CAP (Part 4) designation, you must have already received your CPS certification. Upon completion of Part 4, you will receive the designation of CPS/CAP. If you wish to apply for all four parts at one time, you will receive the CAP designation once you have passed all four parts (Parts 1-4). Page 2 of 2
