"Israeli- Palestinian Conflict Newscast"
Israeli- Palestinian Conflict Newscast Each group will be assigned a significant event in the Israeli- Palestinian Conflict. You are to research and take notes on this event, finding out what is important about it. You need to include important dates, important political figures that participated in the event, and describe the impact the event had on both the State of Israel and Palestine. You need to find at least 6 important facts about this event that you will present. Your group will then write a one page summary of the event(in your own words). From this summary, you need to create a script for a newscast. You need to present the information as though you are living in the time in which the event is occurring. The newscast should be presented just like a newscast would be, like it is important breaking news. Your group needs to come up with a creative way of presenting the information, such as having a reporter at the news desk, and one on the scene of the event. Feel free to include graphics or photos that would go along with your story. You need to either film your newscast at home, or you can use the flip cam to film it at school. These newscasts should be rehearsed, do not throw something together and film on the first take. It will be clear that this is what you did, and points will be deducted from your grade. Keep in mind that these are serious events, and should be treated that way, videos that have students laughing or giggling throughout will also have points deducted. That is why having a script, and rehearsing are so important! The purpose of this exercise is to inform your classmates about the events, so make sure you focus on the things mentioned in the first paragraph: date (include a brief timeline of the event if it lasted over an extended period of time) reason for event what led up to it important political figures involved, impact on Israel and Palestine, were any other countries involved, as well as anything else you feel is important for us to know. Please use the Rubric as a guideline for the actual presentation. 1947 Creation of the State of Israel 1948 Arab- Israeli war (Nakba) The Six- Day War Suez Crisis Yom Kippur War Camp David Accords Oslo Accords The First Intifada Gaza War
